Job summary

Barnett Dembek Architecture, part of Group 161, is hiring an Architectural Technologist with a contract administration focus to join the Surrey office. The role requires AIBC registration or eligibility and involves coordinating on-site and in-office contract administration, maintaining client and contractor relations, and supporting the Project Manager throughout construction.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of contract document production and strong knowledge of BC Building Code and Vancouver

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of experience in production of contract documents, contract administration or direct construction experience.
• Proficient with BC Building Code and Vancouver Building Bylaw.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Contract administration functions on site and in office.
• Establish and maintain relationships with clients, contractors and authorities.
• Support Project Manager and General Contractor during construction phase until completion.
• Conduct on-site visits to review compliance with contract documents and requirements; issue Field Reviews, Site Instructions and Certificates of Payment.
• Assist senior staff with communications throughout drawings and construction processes.
• Produce and distribute drawings, specifications and interpretations in response to RFIs and clarifications.
• Review shop drawings, Change Orders, payment applications and project closeout.
