Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company of Canada, Limited is hiring an Arborist Apprentice/Driver in Colborne, Ontario. You will drive with the crew to job sites, perform pre/post trip inspections, and assist with tree pruning and removal safely and efficiently.

You will work on a full-time, year-round basis with strong safety training and benefits. Must be 18+, have a valid license, and be willing to pursue arborist certification. Company offers comprehensive benefits and RRSP/TFSA programs.

Qualifications

• Valid provincial driver’s license required.
• AZ or DZ license preferred.
• Clean driving abstract.
• Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and learn.

Responsibilities

• Drive a commercial truck with crew and equipment to job sites.
• Perform daily pre/post trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Maintain cleanliness of the truck interior and exterior.
• Operate as an active crew member with ground crew and leader.
• Perform tree pruning/removal services safely and skillfully.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection as needed.
• Prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Assist with job site setup, debris removal and cleanup.
• Follow Davey safety policies.
