Lever, Inc. is seeking an Arabic Levantine Language Expert for a remote freelance AI Trainer project based in Canada.

You will evaluate AI-generated language, identify linguistic inaccuracies, and help models better understand authentic expressions and cultural nuances. You will interact with AI systems across diverse topics, document errors with reproducible examples, and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation methods to support more natural and culturally aware AI

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Arabic (Levantine) Language Expert – Freelance AI Trainer Project based in Canada.

Help shape the future of artificial intelligence by bringing your expertise in Levantine Arabic, regional dialects, and cultural communication to advanced language models. In this fully remote freelance opportunity, you will evaluate AI-generated language, identify linguistic inaccuracies, and help models better understand authentic expressions and cultural nuances. You will interact with AI systems across diverse topics, assessing their ability to interpret context, grammar, idioms, and regional variations accurately. Your findings will help improve model reasoning, prompt engineering, and evaluation methods while supporting more natural and culturally relevant AI interactions. This project is ideal for a language specialist who enjoys analytical problem-solving, linguistic research, and contributing to the development of more inclusive and reliable AI technology.

Accountabilities:

• Interact with advanced AI language models in Levantine Arabic across a broad range of subjects and conversational scenarios.
• Evaluate linguistic accuracy, including vocabulary, phonetics, morphology, syntax, grammar, idiomatic expressions, and regional dialect variations.
• Assess whether AI-generated responses accurately reflect cultural context, local references, conversational norms, and intended meaning.
• Identify and document model failures involving contextual interpretation, semantic accuracy, dialect distinctions, and cultural nuance.
• Produce clear, reproducible examples of linguistic errors to help technical teams understand and address model weaknesses.
• Analyze model responses critically and explain the reasoning behind linguistic judgments, corrections, and evaluation decisions.
• Recommend improvements to prompt engineering, language evaluation criteria, and assessment methods based on observed performance.
• Contribute specialized linguistic knowledge to the development of AI systems that communicate more naturally and accurately with Levantine Arabic speakers.

Requirements:

• Strong expertise in Arabic, with a deep understanding of Levantine Arabic dialects, colloquial expressions, grammar, and cultural references.
• Excellent knowledge of linguistic structures, including phonetics, morphology, syntax, semantics, and contextual language interpretation.
• Ability to distinguish regional dialect variations and assess subtle differences in meaning, tone, and cultural relevance.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to identify linguistic errors and explain why a response is inaccurate or unnatural.
• Clear, structured communication skills and the ability to document findings, provide examples, and explain reasoning in a reproducible manner.
• A master’s degree in Linguistics, Middle Eastern Studies, Translation, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Professional experience in language teaching, translation, linguistic documentation, or community-based language work is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, manage assigned tasks, and deliver consistent, high-quality evaluations in a remote freelance environment.
• Access to a secure computer and a reliable high-speed internet connection, as these are the contractor’s responsibility.
• Applicants should confirm their current country of residence during the application process. The role is advertised as worldwide remote, but location may affect eligibility and compensation.
