Job summary

The Town of Oakville is seeking aTemporary Full Time aquatic programs supervisor with lifeguard credentials to manage program operations, mentor staff, and ensure high standards of safety and customer service. Applicants must meet specific HIGH FIVE and lifeguard certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Current within 2 years: LSS Swim & Lifesaving Instructor, LSS Emergency First Aid instructor, LSS National Lifeguard Service Award, Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED (last 3 years), LSS Aquatic Supervisory Training, LSS Examiner Status (Bronze Cross).
• Certification-focused qualifications required for aquatic supervision and instruction roles.
• Two-year college diploma plus related courses are desirable for the role.

Responsibilities

• Manage programs and services operation standards.
• Supervise and mentor part-time staff and/or volunteers.
• Demonstrate knowledge of HIGH FIVE standards.
• Apply health and safety and risk management practices.
• Understand municipal practices and budgeting processes.
• Be familiar with Town of Oakville policies for aquatic programs.
• Engage in partnerships and community engagement.
• Manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.
• Demonstrate computer literacy.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Be available for evening and weekend shifts and adaptable to schedule changes.
• May be assigned to multiple locations to support lessons and lifeguard duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
