Job summary

Koch Engineered Solutions – Maintenance is seeking an Apprentice Steamfitter/Pipefitter to support plant and refinery maintenance. You will work in varied environments, install equipment at heights, and operate with cranes and rigging under a safety-first approach.

The role requires pipe fabrication, rigging, reading technical drawings, and compliance with safety programs. A team-oriented, safety-conscious attitude is essential for daily field work and collaborative projects.

Qualifications

  • Must have pipe fabrication, assembly and installation experience.
  • Rigging and hoisting experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic safety programs and documentation.
  • Positive, safety-conscious attitude and teamwork.
  • Capable of safe work in Confined Space Environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work in plant and refinery environments.
  • Install equipment at heights using access methods (man basket, AWP, ladders).
  • Read complex instructions and technical drawings accurately.
  • Operate with cranes and rigging in a dynamic team setting.
  • Maintain safety standards and contribute to documentation.
  • Perform field run installation and pressure testing as needed.

Apprentice Steamfitter/Pipefitter (Maintenance)

  • Working in a variety of plant and refinery environments.
  • Equipment installation at heights using multiple access methods. (Man Basket, AWP, Ladders).
  • Apprentice Steamfitter/Pipefitter certification.
  • Working in a dynamic environment as a team.
  • Working with cranes and rigging.

  • Experience with pressure testing piping systems.
  • Experience with tubing and bending.
  • Prior experience with field run installation.
  • First Aid (Level A or C)
  • Basic Safety Orientation (OSSA)
  • Many other tickets would be considered an asset, please list all tickets when applying.
  • Experience working at heights.
Physical requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 350'.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
