Job summary

Koch-Glitsch, LP in Canada seeks a seasoned technician for field work in gas plants and refineries. You will perform equipment installation, maintenance, and safety-compliant tasks in challenging environments.

Required: 2+ years in oil and gas, ability to read blueprints and safety paperwork, and OSSA Confined Space Entry certification. Lifting up to 50 lbs and travel within Canada are expected.

Job description

WHAT WOULD BE REQUIRED IN YOUR ROLE
  • Working in gas plant and refinery environmen ts.
  • Working at heights.
  • Working with cranes and rigging.
  • Handling of parts and materials.
  • Identify and properly install trays, packing, grid, feed pipe, distributors, collectors, various column pressure internals.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING
  • Safety first attitude and execution.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with basic hand tools and equipment such as forklifts, zoom booms, air compressors, etc.…
  • The ability to read and fill out safety paperwork
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to work with others.
  • OSSA Confined Space Entry & Monitoring Certified
  • Positive and friendly demeanor
WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD
  • Two years or more of industrial plant experience in blinding, opening, cleaning, and repair of operating pressure vessels such as towers, reactors, drums, exchangers, heaters
  • Prior experience working in Confined Space.
  • Ability to read simple blueprints.
  • Knowledge of internal and external piping.
  • Experience blinding and deblending process vessels.
  • Basic Safety Orientation (OSSA)Other tickets may be considered an asset, please list all tickets when applying
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Respiratory Protective Equipment training will be required.
  • Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, FRC coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses, etc.
  • Must be willing and able to meet all Company and Customer project entry requirements including, but not limited to, specific training and alcohol & drug testing.
