Job summary

The Seaboard Transport Group is seeking an Apprentice mechanic to join a family-owned team dedicated to safety and quality. You will perform maintenance, diagnose issues, and participate in regular safety discussions to keep fleet operations efficient and compliant.

Ideal candidates hold apprentice certification for trucks/trailers, have strong mechanical and computer skills, and value teamwork. Additional experience with tankers and various trailer types is a plus.

Qualifications

• Apprentice certification as a truck and/or trailer mechanic.
• Experience as a B620 inspector (an asset but not required).
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• High level of professionalism and teamwork.
• Additional experience with tankers, trucks, dry vans, reefers, or welding is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs in adherence to safety standards and regulations.
• Participate in safety and maintenance meetings.
• Engage in professional and service-oriented interactions with colleagues.
• Complete electronic work orders and maintain a clean workspace.
• Diagnose issues and communicate required parts effectively.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and annual motor vehicle inspections.
• Stay up to date with work-related training and development opportunities.
