Job summary

The Seaboard Transport Group in Dartmouth, NS is hiring Apprentice Mechanics (1st–4th block) to join a family‑owned team. You’ll perform maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, participate in safety and maintenance meetings, and complete electronic work orders in a collaborative shop.

Ideal candidates hold Apprentice certification as a truck/trailer mechanic; B620 inspector experience is a plus. Strong mechanical skills, diagnostic ability, and computer literacy are valued for growth

• Apprentice certification as a truck/trailer mechanic.
• B620 inspector experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic ability.
• Proficiency with computers and shop software.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs in adherence to safety standards and regulations.
• Participate in safety and maintenance meetings.
• Engage in professional and service-oriented interactions with colleagues.
• Complete electronic work orders and maintain a clean workspace.
• Diagnose issues and communicate required parts effectively.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and annual motor vehicle inspections.
• Stay up to date with work-related training and development opportunities.

Your Role:

What You Bring to the Table:

• Apprentice certification as a truck and/or trailer mechanic.
• Experience as a B620 inspector (an asset but not required).
• Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
• Proficiency with computers.
• High level of professionalism and teamwork.
• Additional experience with tankers, trucks, dry vans, reefers, or welding is an asset.
