Job summary

The Seaboard Transport Group seeks Apprentice Mechanics to join our Dartmouth, NS team. You will perform maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, participate in safety meetings, and communicate needs effectively.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice certification as a truck and/or trailer mechanic is required.
  • B620 inspector experience is an asset.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with computers is required.
  • High level of professionalism and teamwork is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs in adherence to safety standards and regulations.
  • Participate in safety and maintenance meetings.
  • Engage in professional and service-oriented interactions with colleagues.
  • Complete electronic work orders and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Diagnose issues and communicate required parts effectively.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and annual motor vehicle inspections.
  • Stay up to date with work-related training and development opportunities.

Your Role:

As part of our team, you’ll:

What You Bring to the Table:
  • Apprentice certification as a truck and/or trailer mechanic.
  • Experience as a B620 inspector (an asset but not required).
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • High level of professionalism and teamwork.
  • Additional experience with tankers, trucks, dry vans, reefers, or welding is an asset.
