Job summary

Startec Compression & Process is seeking a 3rd to 4th year Apprentice Instrumentation Technician to join our Calgary, AB shop. The role emphasizes hands-on learning with tubing installation, testing, and instrumentation assembly, while maintaining strong safety and quality standards.

You will fabricate, install, and test tubing, design skid layouts, and collaborate with multiple trades to optimize unit performance.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Well organized with strong attention to detail and safety.
• Able to follow instructions and procedures.
• Familiar with fabrication shop environments and basic tooling.
• Knowledge of instrumentation principles and testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, support, and test tubing.
• Fabricate and install tubing raceways.
• Mount and install instruments in systems.
• Assist in skid layout using P&IDs and GA sketches.
• Work with other trades to optimize unit designs.
• Perform pneumatic testing of tubing and ensure quality.
