Propak Systems Ltd. in Airdrie, AB, seeks Apprentice Instrumentation Technicians to join our fabrication shops. We offer day, evening and weekend shifts with premiums and a strong benefits package including RRSP match.

This entry-level role provides hands-on wiring, piping, instrument installation, calibration and measurement tasks within our gas processing facilities. Ideal candidates are registered apprentices or eligible to register, motivated to learn, and prepared to sign required workplace

Qualifications

• Eligible for registration as a registered apprentice.
• Must be a registered apprentice or eligible to register.
• Motivated and willing to learn.
• Drug-Free Workplace Agreement and Confidentiality/Invention Agreement required.

Responsibilities

• Layout, measure, bend, fabricate and install tubing, small piping and supports for utility, process and instrument systems.
• Install instrument air lines with valves and select appropriate tubing sizes per specs.
• Install and calibrate control and measurement instruments on plant equipment and processes.
• Consult manuals, diagrams and blueprints to install instruments for measuring and controlling variables.
• Inspect and test instrument systems using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Repair/adjust sensors, transmitters and control valves or replace defective parts.
• Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers’ specs.

Propak Systems Ltd. is an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking Apprentice Instrumentation Technicians to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB.

Key Responsibilities:

• Layout, measure, bend, fabricate and install tubing, small piping and supports for utility, process and interment systems.
• Install instrument air lines complete with valves.
• Select tubing size, fittings and wall thickness according to project specifications.
• Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new plant equipment and processes.
• Consult manufacturer’s manuals, circuit diagrams and blueprints to install instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, chemical composition and other variables in manufacturing and processing.
• Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and prevision measuring instruments.
• Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and control valves, or remove and replace defective parts.
• Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers’ specifications.

Qualifications:

• Be eligible for registration as a registered apprentice; or
• Be a registered apprentice.
• Motivated and willing to learn.
