Job summary

Startec Compression & Process is recruiting an Apprentice Instrumentation Technician to work at the Shepard Shop in Calgary. The role emphasizes hands-on learning, tubing fabrication and installation, and testing, with a focus on safety and quality.

Overtime may be required, and applicants must complete a behavioral assessment. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in industrial instrument construction or manufacturing, strong organizational and communication skills, and pass a drug test prior

Qualifications

• Apprentice 3rd year or greater in Instrumentation Technician program.
• Ability to bend and support tubing.
• 2 years of industrial instrument construction/manufacturing experience.
• Fabrication shop experience is an asset.
• Strong organization and communication; works well in a team.
• Must pass a functional, alcohol, and drug test prior to onboarding.
• Proficient with applicable tooling.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication and installation of tubing.
• Fabricate and install tubing raceway.
• Mount and install instruments.
• Pneumatic testing of tubing to ensure workmanship and quality.
• Diagnose and repair faults in instrumentation tubing.
• Keep detailed records of installation, testing, and maintenance activities.
