Job summary

Grupo NORS in London, Ontario, is seeking an Apprentice Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (421A) to join our service team. This role targets someone enrolled as a 1st year apprentice or a 2nd year Heavy Equipment Technician (off road), who will actively pursue the apprenticeship and learn the trade.

You will work on diagnosing faults, follow safety processes, perform repairs, document service reports, and assist in ordering parts while working toward earning a Red Seal 421A licence.

Qualifications

• Diploma in heavy equipment / post-secondary diploma.
• Similar work experience and heavy equipment knowledge.
• Willingness to participate in required training.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety processes and keep safety as a top priority.
• Identify machine faults through proactive customer contact and diagnostics.
• Diagnose and repair with computer connections to identify fault codes.
• Submit timely service reports and time cards.
• Order and follow up on parts to complete service work.
• Report potential delays to Supervisor and describe causes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Strive to improve operating efficiencies and customer satisfaction.

SUMMARY

The Apprentice Technician role is for someone who is looking to become a 1st or who is already enrolled as a 2nd year Heavy Equipment Technician (off road). The successful candidate must actively participate in the apprenticeship process, and be dedicated to learning the trade .

Expected Salary range (per hour)

$22.00 - $25.00 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To follow all safety processes and procedures, and keep safety as the number one value;
• Proactive customer contact in order to properly identify machine faults;
• Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault code;
• Accurate and timely service report submissions (includes time cards);
• Accurate ordering of required parts and follow-up to ensure parts are received in order to complete the assigned service work;
• Immediately reporting to your Supervisor possibilities of exceeding the quoted timeline and describing newly discovered circumstances and or causes;
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for all aspects of assigned tasks, including but not limited to: improving operating efficiencies and overall customer satisfaction through the timely completion of shop service work, responsible for the return of un-used parts upon the completion of shopservice work;
• Abide by Nors’s safety policies and report all hazardous conditions and unsafe work procedures.;
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• Diploma in heavy equipment/ Post-secondary diploma .
• Similar work experience, Heavy equipment knowledge
