Job summary

ESC Corporate Services in Toronto, Ontario, seeks a Temporary Appraiser for up to 12 months to support the Recovery department. The role is 100% on-site and offers the opportunity to manage vehicle ownership processes and coordinate with Ontario auctions.

Responsibilities include completing Ministry of Transportation ownership applications, obtaining ownership for auctioned vehicles, and conducting appraisal duties with photos and reporting. Close cooperation with the Sales Manager is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid Ontario driver's license; driver's abstract may be required.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office; ability to learn new apps.
• Ability to identify problematic files for escalation.
• Repossession experience is an asset.
• Good judgment in assessing vehicle condition and value.
• Strong attention to detail for inventory upkeep.
• Excellent organization to manage physical inventory and space.

Responsibilities

• Fill out ownership applications with the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario.
• Obtain ownership for all vehicles sold through Ontario auctions.
• Send ownership documents via mail to auctions across Ontario.
• Perform appraisal duties including assessing damages and repair costs, taking, and uploading photos.
• Perform miscellaneous office duties and create reports as requested.

Salary Range: The annual salary for this position ranges from $36,750 - $44,750. Exact compensation may vary based on qualification, experience, and education

We are looking for a Temporary Appraiser for a up to 12 months, to help with our continued growth and contribute to our future.

Please note: Due to the nature of the role, this position requires the successful candidate to be 100% on-site.

The Appraiser will input data from the Recovery department and manage a file’s status as it progresses towards its legal sale date. Additionally, the appraiser would be coordinating with auctions across Canada to obtain status updates on aging inventory. Reporting to Sales Manager, other highlights include:

What you’ll need:

• High school diploma, or equivalent education.
• Valid driver’s license for Ontario; Driver’s abstract may be required.
• Ability to comfortably use a computer, Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new technologies/applications are required.
• Ability to identify "problem files" for escalation to management.
• Previous repossession experience is an asset.
• Strong ability to assess vehicle condition and value accurately
• High attention to detail to maintain inventory in remarketing-ready condition
• Strong organizational skills to manage physical inventory and maximize lot space
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a hands-on environment
• Reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational setting
