The Video and Digital Evidence Systems Unit (VDESU) of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires an Applications and Infrastructure Analyst II who is self-motivated and organized with exceptional technical, application development, testing and interpersonal skills. This position will analyze business requirements, specifications and meet with Subject Matter Experts (SME) with a focus on creating a suite of automated tests for both 3rd party and custom developed applications – for a portfolio of mission-critical EPS applications. This position is part of a team that provides application support for business users and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Perform complex end-to-end solution delivery for small system designs or enhancements to large systems, including research, feasibility analysis, impact assessment, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Lead or contribute to system enhancements that may impact multiple applications, teams, or business areas.

Qualifications
  • Degree in a related discipline and four (4) years relevant experience OR Post secondary diploma in a related discipline and five (5) years relevant experience OR one (1) year related certificate and seven (7) years relevant experience.
  • Specialized knowledge and skills in specific technologies, with awareness of adjoining video technologies and systems.
  • Ability to perform complex end-to-end solution delivery and maintenance.
  • Strong analytical, judgment, creativity, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Understanding of City of Edmonton IT architectural standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Ability to mentor and guide less experienced staff and work effectively independently and within a team environment.
  • Experience with the Axon suite of products, Genetec Clearance, Genetec Security Center, Microsoft Esri, SaaS video solutions, video analysis or analytics, and end‑user training is required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate would be considered an asset.
  • A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's Licence, or provincial equivalent, with a satisfactory driving record is required and must be maintained throughout employment.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.

Salary Range: 21B, Salary Grade: 034, $51.18 - $65.31 (Hourly); $4,094.50 - $5,224.80 (Bi-Weekly); $106,865.93 - $136,367.28 (Annually).
The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
