Altis Technology seeks an experienced Application Architect to design scalable, secure, and integrated solutions for a large-scale environment in Downtown Toronto. This 6-month contract is hybrid, requiring three days on-site weekly. The role focuses on shaping architecture across SOA, APIs, and cloud/on-premises integration.

You will produce current-state and future-state blueprints, guide implementation decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience developing and implementing application architectures in large complex systems.
• Knowledge of TOGAF ADM (preferred) or Zachman frameworks across business, information, application, technology and security domains.
• Hands-on experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect, Archi, ArchiMate and UML modelling.
• Strong knowledge of SOA, APIs, web services, real-time and batch integration, middleware, and gateways.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll design and implement application architectures for complex, distributed enterprise environments, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Skills and Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience developing and implementing application architectures within large, complex systems environments.
• Extensive systems analysis and design experience, with knowledge of TOGAF ADM (preferred) or Zachman architecture frameworks across business, information, application, technology, and security domains.
• Hands-on experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect, Archi, or similar tools, including ArchiMate and/or UML modelling.
• Strong knowledge of SOA, APIs, web services, real-time and batch integration, hub-and-spoke architectures, enterprise service buses, middleware, and gateways.
• Experience across multiple computing platforms, operating systems, databases, programming languages, and protocols, including cloud and on-premises integration.
• Proficiency in data and process modelling, metadata, architecture documentation, performance, security, recovery, and structured development methodologies. Familiarity with CASE tools, networking, storage, and infrastructure architecture is an asset.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Public sector experience, Ontario Government architecture methodologies, object-oriented design, and multi-tier application design are assets.
