Job summary

Sun Life is seeking an API Platform Operations Engineer to help operationalize our Enterprise API Platform solutions. You will support API Platform operations, including cloud and on-premises components, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the enterprise.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, DevOps, and containerized runtimes, with exposure to Kafka, AWS, and Spring Boot. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
• 3-6 years experiences in related IT areas.
• Minimum of 2+ years experiences in Application support and Operations as primary role.
• Minimum of 1-2 years development experience with Java.
• Experience in implementing continuous integration and delivery solutions.
• Good understanding of DevOps, Containers/Docker, Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of REST API design standards, OpenAPI Spec.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the operations (support, deployment and rollout of components) in API Platforms both in the cloud and on premise.
• Maintain and improve core infrastructure underpinning API operations (gateway, runtimes, security).
• Support Enterprise Event Hub with Kafka.
• Support API and micro-services operations.
• Identify defects and provide solutions.
• Run performance and load testing and implement optimizations.
• Support CI/CD best practices.
