Job description

AiGC is seeking an AML Reporting Analyst to support the integrity and regulatory compliance of Alberta's regulated iGaming market. Reporting to the Manager, AML Risk Analysis & Reporting, this position supports AiGC's obligations under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and associated Regulations through regulatory reporting, transaction analysis, and validation of information received from iGaming operators.

In this role, you will review and validate operator-submitted information, assess transaction activity and potential compliance risks, and prepare, verify, and submit regulatory reports in accordance with established procedures and delegated authorities. You will also identify reporting gaps, data-quality concerns, and matters requiring escalation while maintaining accurate, complete, and audit-ready records.

Working collaboratively with teams across operations, compliance, risk, legal, and technology, you will support operator oversight, regulatory examinations, risk assessments, and continuous improvement of AiGC's AML/ATF reporting processes and controls.

Who You Are?

You are a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a strong understanding of anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing requirements. You bring sound judgment, investigative curiosity, and the ability to interpret complex information, identify potential risks, and translate findings into clear, accurate, and defensible reporting.

You thrive in an environment where accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality are essential. You are comfortable working with complex datasets, navigating regulatory requirements, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes. With a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement, you are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the integrity and transparency of Alberta's evolving regulated iGaming market.

About the Role
Regulatory Reporting
  • Prepare, validate, submit, amend and track regulatory reports required under PCMLTFA and associated Regulations, in accordance with delegated authority, internal procedures and prescribed timelines.
  • Review operator-submitted suspicious transaction referrals and supporting documentation and prepare documented recommendation for escalation and reporting consideration.
  • Review aggregate player and transaction information across operators and reporting channels to identify linked activity, cumulative thresholds, duplicate records and potential reporting gaps.
  • Act as an authorized FINTRAC Verification and Submission Officer, as designated, supporting the accurate and timely submission of regulatory reports within delegated authority.
  • Document reporting assessments and recommendations, including the rationale for submission, non-submission, amendment or escalation, in accordance with approved procedures and decision-making authorities
Data Collection and Validation
  • Collect, reconcile, and validate transaction and player data from internal systems, third-party platforms, and operational teams to support regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Identify data gaps, anomalies, or inconsistencies; undertake investigative follow-up with operators and internal stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely and documented manner.
  • Analyze transaction data to identify trends, emerging risks, and potential AML/ATF compliance issues, escalating material concerns in accordance with internal escalation frameworks.
Compliance Support
  • Support internal audits, independent reviews, and regulatory examinations relating to AML/ATF reporting, including preparation of documentation, evidence packages, and formal responses.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of internal reporting tools, controls, and processes to strengthen compliance outcomes and reduce operational risk.
  • Research and summarize changes to AML/ATF legislation, regulations, FINTRAC guidance and relevant industry practices and identify potential impacts for management consideration.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work collaboratively with teams across operations, compliance, risk, legal, and technology to ensure accurate, timely, and consistent regulatory reporting.
  • Support responses to regulatory, audit and law enforcement information requests under the direction of AML management and in accordance with approved disclosure protocols.
  • Develop subject-matter expertise in assigned areas and provide operational guidance consistent with approved policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education
  • University degree in Analytics, Law, Finance, Criminology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional designation in Anti-Money Laundering, such as Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) or equivalent, is considered an asset.
Experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in AML/ATF compliance, financial crime investigations, transaction monitoring, gaming compliance, or a related field.
  • Experience preparing regulatory reports, analyzing financial transactions, and maintaining accurate compliance documentation.
  • Experience working with complex datasets, identifying discrepancies, and supporting investigative or regulatory reporting activities.
  • Experience within the gaming industry, including casino gaming or sports wagering, is considered an asset.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA), associated Regulations, FINTRAC guidance, and Canadian AML/ATF reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills, including the ability to identify transaction patterns, reporting discrepancies, and emerging compliance risks.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and established procedures.
  • Proficiency in working with complex datasets, regulatory reporting systems, and analytical tools.
