Canada Packers is hiring an Animal Care Technician in Winkler, MB. This full-time role is physically active and focuses on the health and well-being of pigs, with weekend, holiday, and occasional alarm rotations.

You will help with feeding, herd health, sanitation, and maintenance in a safety-first environment. The position offers a starting wage from $19.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• Commitment to wearing proper PPE and following safety protocols.
• Availability for weekend, holiday, and alarm shifts on a rotational basis.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to a rural location.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Feeding and providing general care for pigs.
• Maintaining herd health and clean and safe environment for pigs.
• Pressure washing and preparing rooms for animal entry.
• Performing minor maintenance and sanitation tasks.
• Completing clerical duties such as maintaining door charts, inventory trackers, and ordering feed and medication.
• Following all health and safety policies and adhering to Canada Packers’ SOPs for humane animal treatment.

About This Opportunity

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
