Job summary

Canada Packers is hiring an Animal Care Technician at Narcisse, MB. This full-time role involves hands-on animal care in a barn setting, with rotating shifts that include weekends and holidays. You’ll help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of pigs while contributing to production goals.

The position requires adherence to safety policies, proper PPE, and the ability to lift up to 25 kg. A valid driver’s license and willingness to work in a rural location are needed.

  • Complete clerical duties such as door charts, inventory trackers, and ordering feed/medication.
  • Adhere to health, safety policies and SOPs for humane animal treatment.

Skills & Experience:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application. Proof of eligibility may be requested during the recruitment process.

  • Commitment to wearing proper PPE and following safety protocols.
  • Availability for weekend, holiday, and alarm shifts on a rotational basis.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to a rural location.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and complex tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Alignment with Canada Packers’ Leadership Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Experience in hog production is an asset.
