Job summary

Conestoga College's Veterinary Technician and Veterinary Assistant programs seek a Casual Part-Time Technologist to support hands-on labs at the Kitchener campus and off-site kennels in Greater Kitchener-Waterloo. The role involves supervising students in live animal care and handling, with up to 16 hours per week during fall 2026, including mornings, midday, or evenings, and travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year diploma in Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Technology.
• Minimum two years of experience working as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
• Must be registered in good standing as an RVT in Ontario.
• Rabies vaccination proof required; travel to off-site locations may be needed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong organization.
• Ability to lift weighted patient models and travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory preparation: prep models, cadavers, solutions, media, and samples.
• Student assessment: evaluate lab performance and provide remedial assistance.
• Laboratory equipment and maintenance: operate and maintain lab equipment.
• Safety and compliance: enforce safety guidelines for staff and learners.
