Job summary

The Mosaic Company in Colonsay, Saskatchewan, is seeking an Analytical Laboratory Supervisor to oversee laboratory shift operations and technicians, ensuring quality control data from raw materials, process samples and final products, and maintaining safety and environmental compliance.

You will supervise calibration and repairs, provide direction and feedback, and coordinate 24-hour QC coverage, collaborating with production and shipping to address quality concerns and investigations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Chemistry is preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience required.
• 1+ years of Supervising experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate Laboratory Technicians to ensure day to day operations of the Quality Control Laboratory in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.
• Responsible for administering laboratory safety and housekeeping programs along with supervising the operation and maintenance of lab equipment.
• Provide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards.
• Supervises calibration and repairs to instruments.
• Supervises shift to provide 24 hour quality control operations.
• Provide quality control feedback to production and shipping units.
• Participate in investigation of quality complaints, the development of product specifications and in technical inquiries.

About the role

The Supervisor, Laboratory will supervise laboratory shift operations and technicians. Monitor the quality control data obtained through lab analyses of incoming raw materials, process samples and final products (including shipments). Ensure that work follows safety rules, environmental policies, and procedures. Responsible for lab facilities and operations during off hours, weekends, and holidays.
