Job summary

Fasken is seeking a Business Analyst to bridge business needs with technology across the firm, supporting operational efficiency, client service delivery, risk management, and knowledge sharing through process and technology improvements. The role works closely with lawyers, business services teams, vendors, and IT staff in a fully remote capacity.

Required are a degree in Business Admin/IT/CS or related certifications and at least five years in a professional services or legal tech environment,

Qualifications

• University or college degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or CCBA, CBAP, PMI-PBA or PMP certification.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a law firm, professional services firm or legal technology.
• Experience supporting enterprise software implementations and business transformation initiatives.
• Strong requirements gathering methodologies and business process analysis with attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 technologies including SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform and Copilot is an asset.
• Customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Business Analysis & Requirements Management: gather, analyze, document, and manage business requirements to ensure solutions align with stakeholder needs and strategic objectives.
• Process Improvement: evaluate and redesign business processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
• Solution Evaluation & Implementation: assess, recommend, and support the implementation of technology solutions that address business challenges and opportunities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, communication, and consensus.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: ensure solutions meet business requirements through comprehensive testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
• Change Management & Adoption: support organizational change by developing communications, training, and adoption strategies that maximize user engagement and value realization.
• Project Support: partner with project managers and delivery teams to identify risks, manage dependencies, and contribute to successful project outcomes.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: analyze business data and metrics to provide insights, support decision-making, and measure business outcomes.
• Documentation & Governance: create and maintain accurate business, process, and system documentation while supporting governance and compliance requirements.
• Legal Technology Enablement: work with lawyers and business services teams to optimize legal workflows and maximize the value of legal technology investments.
