Job summary

RONA is seeking an Inventory Planner to optimize inventory management and support marketing strategies. The role involves planning, replenishment, and collaboration with merchandising and internal partners in a dynamic retail environment.

You will monitor stock levels, analyze performance metrics, and participate in S&OP/CPFR cycles, enabling timely decisions and smooth department operations in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in operations research, operations management, engineering, statistics or a related discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication in French and English.
• 1 to 4 years’ related experience in demand planning or stock management.
• Ability to analyze data to formulate recommendations.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Access; knowledge of JDA is an asset.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Business acumen and sense of urgency.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
• Experience in retail or distribution is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and execution of marketing strategies for the categories under your responsibility.
• Define and maintain replenishment parameters in line with the corporate inventory management strategy while supporting marketing initiatives for the products under your responsibility.
• Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal partners to develop strategies.
• Ensure excellent collaboration with business partners responsible for merchandising.
• Coordinate various activities with stakeholders.
• Analyze and monitor performance indicators (level of products in stock, accuracy of sales forecasts, turnover rate, inventory budget, dashboard, product status, etc.).
• Participate in a collaborative cycle of review and planning of sales, inventory and supply (S&OP/CPFR).
• Participate in all other related tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department.

What we're looking for:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English (Frequent communications with internal/external partners and/or clients/employees outside of Québec)
• 1 to 4 years’ related experience, preferably in demand planning and stock management
• Good ability to analyze data in order to formulate recommendations
• Good knowledge of technological tools such as MS Excel and Access (knowledge of JDA is considered an asset)
• Organizational skills, thoroughness, self-direction and attention to detail
• Well-developed business acumen and sense of urgency
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Familiarity with the retail industry and/or distribution (an asset)
