Job summary

RONA is seeking a Logistics Analyst to design and optimize logistics flows across its supply chain from the Boucherville head office. This role acts as a data-driven advisor to internal partners, determining distribution channels, inbound transportation models, warehousing parameters, and centre assignments.

Reporting to the Manager, Logistics Flow Optimization, you will identify opportunities to improve performance and align operational decisions with financial objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Operations, Logistics, or Supply Chain) or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, or transportation.
• Experience in retail or with a national distributor or logistics provider.

Responsibilities

• Act as logistics advisor to Merchandising, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to optimize product flows.
• Manage a portfolio of suppliers and recommend logistics strategies.
• Analyze impacts of business decisions and provide recommendations to improve logistics performance.
• Support Merchandising during negotiations and onboarding of new suppliers.
• Participate in strategic supply chain optimization projects.
• Develop and maintain tools, analyses, and performance indicators for decision-making.
• Collaborate with partners to improve logistics processes.

Reporting to the Manager, Logistics Flow Optimization, the Logistics Analyst plays a key role in designing and optimizing logistics flows across RONA’s supply chain. The incumbent acts as an advisor to internal partners by providing data-driven recommendations to support decision-making and the achievement of business objectives.

Using various tools and sources of information, the analyst determines distribution channels, inbound transportation models, warehousing parameters, cartonization specifications, and distribution centre assignments.

With a strong understanding of supply chain operations, the analyst serves as a subject matter expert for stakeholders by assessing the operational and financial impacts of decisions and recommending solutions tailored to business needs.

Results-oriented, the analyst proactively identifies opportunities to improve the performance of the logistics network and ensures alignment between operational decisions, financial objectives, and supply chain strategies.

As an individual contributor, the analyst conducts analyses, supports corporate projects, maintains critical parameters, and contributes to the evolution of tools and processes with a continuous improvement mindset.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as a logistics advisor to the Merchandising, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to optimize product flows.
• Manage a portfolio of suppliers and recommend the logistics strategies best suited to business needs and network capabilities.
• Analyze the operational and financial impacts of business decisions and provide recommendations aimed at improving logistics performance.
• Support Merchandising teams during commercial negotiations and the onboarding of new suppliers.
• Participate in strategic projects and cross-functional supply chain optimization initiatives.
• Act as a subject matter expert on issues related to logistics flows and distribution strategy.
• Develop and maintain the tools, analyses, and performance indicators required to support decision-making.
• Collaborate with business partners to ensure alignment and the continuous improvement of logistics processes.

The qualifications we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Operations, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management), Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a role with progressively increasing responsibilities in distribution, logistics, or transportation.
• Experience in the retail industry, with a large national distributor, or with a transportation/logistics service provider.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; a proactive approach and willingness to challenge existing processes and propose new solutions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proven track record of completing tasks efficiently, on time, and under pressure, while effectively managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work with teams at all levels of the organization and across various functions in a complex environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels of the organization and across business units, and to influence and lead others through challenging situations.
• Bilingualism in French and English, both spoken and written.(Frequent communications with internal/external partners and/or clients/employees outside of Québec)
