Purpose. Performance. People.

Joining CPP Investments means joining one of the world’s most admired and respected institutional investors to drive a single mandate: to deliver strong, sustainable returns for generations of Canadians.

With a long-term horizon and global reach, we deploy capital at scale across public and private markets. Our size, stability, and disciplined investment philosophy allow us to pursue complex opportunities and build enduring partnerships worldwide.

For our people, this means meaningful work with tangible impact, real opportunity, and collaboration with exceptional colleagues who value partnership and performance. Here, you’ll contribute to outcomes that matter alongside team members committed to excellence and shared success.

The Role

As an Analyst, Secondaries, you will support the evaluation and execution of private equity secondary investments across both LP and GP-led transactions. Working closely with the Secondaries team, you will conduct investment research, build financial models, participate in due diligence, and help monitor portfolio investments while contributing to investment recommendations and portfolio management activities.

The Team

The Secondaries group is part of CPP Investments' Private Equity department and invests directly in the private equity market through both LP and GP-led secondaries. The team leverages CPP Investments' scale, extensive market access, longstanding GP relationships, and established track record to identify and execute compelling investment opportunities.

Accountabilities
  • Conduct industry, market, and company research to support investment analysis and due diligence.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and perform valuation analysis to evaluate investment opportunities.
  • Participate in due diligence activities, including meetings with external stakeholders and analysis of investment opportunities.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, analytical reviews, and recommendations in collaboration with the deal team.
  • Present analysis during investment discussions and contribute to transaction-related Q&A sessions.
  • Monitor the financial performance and risk profile of portfolio investments, updating models and analytical tools as required.
  • Support multiple transaction teams simultaneously while contributing to investment execution and portfolio management.
What You Bring
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant experience in secondaries or private equity, investment banking, consulting, or a related field.
  • CFA designation or progress toward the CFA program is considered an asset.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to be based in Toronto and travel as required.

You are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
