The Growth Equity Team

The Growth Equity team within Private Equity invests directly into venture-backed growth stage companies globally. Our objective is to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns by investing in high-growth companies that are seeking capital to fund organic growth or M&A initiatives.

The Role: Analyst, Growth Equity

The Analyst, Growth Equity will have the opportunity to make significant contributions to the investment process and will work alongside experienced investment professionals from origination through to execution. The position is based in Toronto, Canada.

What you’ll do
  1. Support all aspects of the investment process, including originating, evaluating, executing, and monitoring growth equity investments.
  2. Build financial models and valuation analyses.
  3. Perform extensive company and industry due diligence.
  4. Synthesize detailed investment memoranda and presentations.
  5. Analyze existing portfolio company performance.
  6. Support senior team members in portfolio management.
  7. Represent CPP Investments externally as part of investment process.
What you’ll bring
  1. 1-2 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, growth equity or venture capital.
  2. Exceptional quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  3. Strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities.
  4. Outstanding communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and deliver results.
  6. Highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Strong academic track record.
  8. A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, engineering, mathematics, or related field.
  9. A keen interest in growth equity investing across various sectors, including software, healthcare, and consumer.
  10. An entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for learning.
