Job summary

TELUS Health in Canada seeks a Pension Analyst to administer pension plans and provide analytical and administrative support. You will handle client inquiries, benefit calculations, and data preparation for actuarial valuations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or Pension Administration.
  • Sharp analytical thinking and attention to details.
  • Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English; French would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to plan inquiries and requests from clients promptly and professionally.
  • Calculate and process timely payment of termination, retirement, and death benefits for medium-sized plans and review such for simple plans.
  • Prepare year-end annual pension statements accurately.
  • Prepare membership and asset data for actuarial valuations conscientiously.
  • Apply and interpret pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements.
  • Work with pension databases to ensure data accuracy.
  • Attend internal training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and topics.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to add value.
  • Assist with special projects as required to support team goals.

What you’ll do

What you bring

We’re looking for an experienced and skilled individual with:

  • Post-secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science) or relevant courses related to Pension Administration

  • Sharp analytical thinking and attention to details

  • Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French would be an asset

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Salary Range: $ 40,000 - $60,000

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
