Job summary

RBC Capital Markets is seeking an Analyst to manage a portfolio of credit relationships in the ICCM - Corporates & NBFI team. You will coordinate with RBC and other groups to deliver credit and banking services to multinational clients.

Responsibilities include preparing transaction requests, annual reviews, regulatory responses, and ensuring policy compliance while building expertise across industries and trading products. Collaboration with various bank teams is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's level accreditation in finance/economics/quantitative discipline.
  • Ability to read and understand complex legal documents.
  • Previous banking experience with relationship management or credit processes is an asset.
  • Strong credit and analytical skills to assess financial statements and client reports.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare transaction requests (new credits, restructurings, renewals, waivers, documentation).
  • Perform annual portfolio reviews and ensure data integrity in CCMS.
  • Support regulatory/audit requests and respond to stakeholders.
  • Review and approve transactional requests within policy.
  • Complete ad-hoc projects and present to key stakeholders.
  • Develop industry/product expertise and provide value-added guidance.

What is the opportunity?

As an Analyst in our ICCM - Corporates & NBFI team you will manage a portfolio of credit relationships within the Global Credit division of RBC Capital Markets. You will work closely with other groups within Capital Markets and the Bank to deliver a full range of credit and banking services to multinational and other large corporate relationships.

What will you do?

Ensure timely preparation of (i) transaction requests (which may include but not limited to new credits, restructurings, renewals, waivers, documentation review, establishing lines for trading and cash management, regularizing ETRs, indicative risk ratings); (ii) annual reviews of assigned portfolio and ensuring the data integrity of CCMS.

Participate in team deliverables with respect to regulatory/audit requests

Ensure transactional requests are reviewed and approved within policy

Completion of ad-hoc projects and other duties (including presenting to key stakeholders) efficiently and effectively in order to support the team meeting planned and unplanned demands

Develop expertise in various industries and trading products, policies and guidelines, and provide value added advice to internal partners

Ensure compliance with Bank Policy

Ensure that bank systems correctly reflect key terms and conditions of agreements and other documentation for the assigned portfolio

Interact extensively with other functions of RBC Capital Markets, the Bank and occasionally interact with clients, legal counsel and other external contacts

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have's:
  • Academic background with a minimum of Bachelor's level accreditation with an emphasis in finance, economics or quantitative discipline
  • Ability to read and understand complex legal documents
  • Prior experience and understanding of trading products would be an asset
  • Strong credit and analytical skills including the ability to critically assess financial statements and other client reports to draw reasoned conclusions and recommend a course of action
  • Previous banking experience with relationship management, structuring and writing of credit proposals, credit processes, policies, risk analysis would be an asset
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and to interact at all levels within a large organization
  • Ability to prioritize, perform well under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong general PC Skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Nice-to-have's:
  • MBA, professional designation (e.g., CA, CMA, CFA) or a post-graduate degree with a focus in finance, economics or quantitative discipline would be an asset
