Job description

North Horizon Holdings is a Canadian institutional investor with a global investment footprint. We are value-oriented investors in private equity, venture capital, public markets, and real estate.

The Operation Analyst is primarily accountable for oversight of the daily operation, records and filing, reporting and providing necessary operational support for the front office in real estate and private equity/venture capital investment.

What will you do?
  1. Review and manage transaction records, utilizing different investment management software/systems to book records properly.
  2. Audit and check the accuracy and consistency of cash outflow and inflow of different investment teams.
  3. Assist front office in fund budgeting and planning.
  4. Assist with the quarterly PE fund/Real Estate deal valuation process.
  5. Ensure the accuracy and security of important investment documents, especially legal instruments, org chart, and investment memos.
  6. Oversee the investment process to guarantee all investment teams strictly follow our internal control and compliance policies.
  7. Reconcile and analyze investment data of different asset types to generate monthly/quarterly reports and financial statements in terms of management needs.
  8. Help improve back-office operational policy to standardize and streamline the process.
  9. Perform ad-hoc tasks including but not limited to coordinating meetings, translation, and operational legal tasks relating to deal closing.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have
  1. At least a Bachelor’s degree specialized in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Statistics.
  2. Ability to manage and analyze investment data using Excel Pivot Table, Excel VBA, PowerBI, SharePoint, and Backstop (training will be provided).
  3. Proficient in using MS Office Suite to generate various reports (PowerPoint, Word, and Visio).
  4. Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, both oral and written, with the ability to draft reports and presentation documents in both languages.
  5. Knowledge of the financial industry and business routine.
  6. Efficient coordination, organization, and time management skills.
  7. A team worker with strong interpersonal skills to build good rapport with different internal departments.
  8. Strong attention to detail, accountability, and reliability.
Nice to Have
  1. At least 2 years of work experience in the financial industry (experience in real estate investment, PV/VC investment setting preferred). Experience as a fund administrator or in operations is highly preferred.
  2. Strong data processing skills to identify, clean, analyze, and interpret data using various data analytics tools.
  3. Knowledge of compliance policy, legal entity establishment, and tax filing of fund investment or real estate investment in North America.
