The Opportunity

As an Investment Analyst, Private Capital in our Equities department, you will analyze potential private equity investment opportunities, execute transactions, and work with existing portfolio companies to craft strategies and implement value-enhancing initiatives within the Healthcare portfolio. You may also support transactions across other Private Capital sector teams, including Technology, Financial Services, Diversified Industrials & Business Services, Sustainability & Energy Transition, and Digital & IT Services. This role offers the chance to differentiate yourself as an investor and build strategic relationships with investment banks and industry executives. Our lean teams provide great exposure and hands-on learning opportunities.

Who you’ll work with

You will join Ontario Teachers' Toronto office, supporting senior team members in evaluating and managing private equity investments. Ontario Teachers' manages one of the world's largest pools of private capital, actively seeking partnership opportunities and investments in growing companies.

What you’ll do

  1. Conduct research to develop investment strategies and evaluate opportunities.
  2. Build financial models for valuation, transaction structuring, and financing.
  3. Incorporate new data into existing models and verify results.
  4. Coordinate with third-party due diligence advisors and assist in negotiations and transaction execution.
  5. Work with management teams to implement strategic initiatives.
  6. Participate in ongoing management and monitoring of portfolio companies, including annual valuation processes.
  7. Prepare investment recommendations and presentations for Private Capital’s investment committees.

What you'll need

  • A relevant undergraduate degree with excellent academic performance.
  • Up to 1 year of relevant work experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate development, consulting, or transaction services.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Deep understanding of fundamental investment and valuation analysis.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel within North America.
