Simon Fraser University seeks an Analyst, Finance and Research Administration to manage financial accounts within the Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic. You will provide financial guidance, develop models and reports, and coordinate with the Finance and Budget Office.
The role supports operating, research and endowment projects, liaising with multiple SFU units while upholding confidentiality and professional standards. Hybrid work is available.

The Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic works with faculties and service units across the university to provide an outstanding education for SFU students and a productive research environment for faculty. Our team in financial and budget management provides leadership and support for financial and budget related issues within the Office of the Provost and VPA and to all areas within the Provost's portfolio.
The Analyst, Finance and Research Administration provides managerial and administrative support for all financial and research related matters and holds fiscal administration responsibility for all financial accounts in the Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic (VPA). The Analyst provides financial advice and oversees the delivery of financial support services for all operating, specific purpose, research and endowment projects and activities. The Analyst coordinates, trains and provides advice and information regarding finance and research administration; oversees and facilitates financial requirements and reporting. The role is responsible for the financial administration of operating, research and grant accounts and provides financial guidance to various VPA units including coordinating with the Finance and Budget Office. The Analyst develops financial processes, designs and develops a range of financial models, prepares financial reports and reviews to support planning and decision making, financial analysis, and other initiatives. The Analyst liaises with several areas across the university with respect to the application, administrative, reporting, and financial requirements of various accounts.
Full Job Description
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a relevant discipline, with a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) and five years of related experience in areas such as financial and budget administration, fund accounting, research accounting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
