Job description

Analyst, Energy Management and Market Operations

Join to apply for the Analyst, Energy Management and Market Operations role at PowerON Energy Solutions.

Reporting to the Manager, EMS, you will be part of a team developing energy solutions for large business and institutional customers, including electric vehicle charging, battery storage, solar PV, and power generation. Your work will help unlock the full potential of electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, driving the transition to a clean energy economy.

Responsibilities
  1. Interpret the full value stack of projects, relevant to their configurations.
  2. Complete energy and basic modelling for electrification projects as inputs to project economics.
  3. Conduct economic site screening and feasibility-level system sizing for battery energy storage and EV charging projects.
  4. Research and stay updated on relevant tariffs, programs, incentives, and market rules for energy markets.
  5. Analyze and track greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction efforts.
Reporting
  1. Present models, analysis, and solutions to leadership clearly and effectively.
  2. Develop and structure reporting products.
  3. Support expansion of data management systems.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand electrification products and processes, informing impacts on CAPEX and OPEX optimization.
  5. Proactively explore development of new products and processes supporting electrification.
Operations
  1. Work with Operations and Maintenance teams on asset monitoring, performance analysis, and reporting.
  2. Support market participation of portfolio assets.
  3. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on software system needs.
  4. Optimize internal processes for efficiency.
  5. Administer Clean Fuel Credit product delivery, including data collection, reporting, and marketing.
Qualifications
  1. University degree in Engineering or a related field.
  2. At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  3. Experience with EV charging, behind-the-meter DERs (battery energy storage, solar), charge management systems, energy management systems, aggregation platforms, demand response, or load management.
  4. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  5. Experience with IESO and another ISO market is an asset.
  6. Python experience is an asset.
  7. Self-motivated, curious, and passionate about electrification and innovation.
