The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a Compensation & Classification Analyst to support development, implementation and administration of compensation programs. The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and strong communication across large teams, with a focus on pay equity and survey data analysis.

Qualifications

  • 3-year college diploma in Business, HR, Finance or equivalent.
  • 3+ years data analysis experience and job description drafting.
  • Experience with health care roles and collective agreements.
  • Strong communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to use PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with unions and compensation-related processes.

Position Information

The Compensation & Classification Analyst position supports the development, implementation, communication, and administration of compensation and classification programs and services. The incumbent will be required to provide detailed analysis and project support to the Compensation and Classification department.

  • Creating and maintaining job descriptions and tools;
  • Leading and participating in Job Evaluation Committees with unions;
  • Preparing costing scenarios using Excel;
  • Developing compensation structures using internal and market data;
  • Reviewing and providing recommendations regarding compensation requests;
  • Sending, compiling, and analyzing compensation survey data.
Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

What You Will Bring
  • 3-Year Community College Diploma in Business, Human Resources, Finance or equivalent;
  • Three (3) years of experience with Data Analysis;
  • Three (3) years of experience drafting and/or reviewing job descriptions;
  • Good understanding of health care positions;
  • Experience working with unions and administering collective agreements;
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral);
  • Strong organization and time management skills;
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs and timelines;
  • High attention to detail; Experience working in a fast paced, large, Human Resources Department;
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel;
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Power Point;
  • Intermediate to Advanced Skills in PeopleSoft;
  • Good understanding of compensation structures and pay equity;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Strong teamwork skills.

  • 4-Year Undergraduate Degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance or equivalent;
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP);
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP);
  • Experience with analytics.
