Job summary

WestJet Group is seeking an Avionics Technician to support daily aircraft maintenance across our fleet, including Boeing 737NG, 737 MAX, 787 and Dash 8-400 (Q400). The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to WestJet’s standards as you troubleshoot avionics systems.

Qualifications include a valid Transport Canada licence and at least 2 years’ experience on the listed aircraft types, with strong electrical, navigation and flight controls expertise. Relocation support may be available.

Are you ready for your next adventure? Ensure you meet the following requirements:

Requirements
  • Valid Transport Canada (E)Licence required
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience and/or endorsed on Boeing 737and/or 787 and/or Q400, or equivalent type of aircraft preferred
  • Proven technical aptitude and strongexperience with electrical, navigation and flight controls required
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada(must hold a Canadian Passport or Permanent Residency and/or open work permit with PR card in process)
  • Radio Licence required within 6 months of employment
  • The physical ability to lift 6 2 lbs and sit, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including temperature extremes, confined spaces, and working at heights
  • Ability to maintain a positive fit test to wear all safety and protective equipment including (but not limited to) respirator apparatus
  • Flexibility to work shift work (night shifts, weekends and holidays) including overtime when necessary
  • Must be able to travel for situations where base coverage and/or rescue tripsare required
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills using various Maintenance programs and Microsoft Office Applications

Successful candidates will be required to meet the following conditions of employment:

Conditions of Employment
  • Obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) issued by Transport Canada
  • Obtain and maintain Airside Vehicle Operators Permits (AVOP). Must have a valid Driver’s Licence and a clean driver’s abstract
  • Pre-employment assessment to measure physical ability and fit for positionincluding audiometric testing
  • Clear police backgroundand criminal record check
  • Offers of employment are conditional on passing a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test including Alcohol, Psychoactive Substances, Illicit Drugs and Cannabis
