Job summary

WestJet Group is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to contribute to the safe, reliable daily maintenance of our fleet, including Boeing 737 family, 787, and Dash 8-400. You will work in a fast-paced environment within WestJet's Technical Operations Department, upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License (M2 preferred) and a minimum of 2 years’ experience, with ability to travel with the fleet, and willingness

Qualifications

  • Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License (M2 preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience and/or endorsed on Boeing 737 and/or 787 and/or Q400, or equivalent type of aircraft.
  • Proven technical aptitude with airframe, powerplant, and flight control experience.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian Passport or PR and/or open work permit with PR in process).
  • Must be able to obtain Radio Licence within 6 months of employment.
  • Physical ability to lift 62 lbs and endure long periods of sitting, kneeling and standing.

  • Perform safe and efficient daily maintenance on our fleet.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose aircraft systems with a focus on reliability and safety.
  • Adhere to Transport Canada regulations and WestJet safety policies.

Are you ready for your next adventure?Ensure you meet the following requirements:
  • Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License required (M2 preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience and/or endorsed on Boeing 737and/or 787 and/or Q400, or equivalent type ofaircraftis preferred

  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including temperature extremes, confined spaces, working at heights and in a noisy workspace
  • Ability tomaintaina positive fit test to wear all safety and protective equipment including (but not limited) to a respirator apparatus
  • Flexibility to work shift work (night shifts,weekendsand holidays) including overtime when necessary
  • Must be able to travel for situations where base coverage and/or rescue tripsarerequired
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills using various Maintenance tracking programs and Microsoft Office Applications
Successful candidates willbe requiredto meet the following conditions of employment:
  • Obtain andmaintaina Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) issued by Transport Canada
  • Obtain andmaintainAirside Vehicle Operators Permits (AVOP). Must have a valid Driver’sLicenceand a clean driver’s abstract
  • Complete a pre-employment assessment to measure physical ability and fitness for the positionincluding audiometric testing
  • Produce a clear police backgroundand criminal record check
  • Pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening testfor substances including Alcohol, Psychoactive Substances, Illicit Drugs and Cannabis
