WestJet Group is seeking an Avionics Technician to contribute to safe, efficient daily maintenance of our Boeing 737NG, 787 and Q400 fleets. You will work in a fast-paced environment, applying troubleshooting skills while prioritizing safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Valid Transport Canada (E) Licence required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience on Boeing 737/787 or Q400 preferred.
  • Proven electrical, navigation and flight controls aptitude.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Radio Licence required within 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to lift 62 lbs and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily avionics maintenance on WestJet fleet.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose avionics faults.
  • Uphold safety standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with AMEs and maintenance team.
  • Engage in ongoing training and career development.

Are you ready for your next adventure? Ensure you meet the following requirements:

Requirements
  • Valid Transport Canada (E)Licence required
  • Minimum 2-years’ experience and/or endorsed on Boeing 737and/or 787 and/or Q400, or equivalent type of aircraft preferred
  • Proven technical aptitude and strongexperience with electrical, navigation and flight controls required
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada(must hold a Canadian Passport or Permanent Residency and/or open work permit with PR card in process)
  • Radio Licence required within 6 months of employment
  • The physical ability to lift 6 2 lbs and sit, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including temperature extremes, confined spaces, and working at heights
  • Ability to maintain a positive fit test to wear all safety and protective equipment including (but not limited to) respirator apparatus
  • Flexibility to work shift work (night shifts, weekends and holidays) including overtime when necessary
  • Must be able to travel for situations where base coverage and/or rescue tripsare required
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills using various Maintenance programs and Microsoft Office Applications

Successful candidates will be required to meet the following conditions of employment:

  • Obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) issued by Transport Canada
  • Obtain and maintain Airside Vehicle Operators Permits (AVOP). Must have a valid Driver’s Licence and a clean driver’s abstract
  • Pre-employment assessment to measure physical ability and fit for positionincluding audiometric testing
  • Clear police backgroundand criminal record check
  • Offers of employment are conditional on passing a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test including Alcohol, Psychoactive Substances, Illicit Drugs and Cannabis
