Job Description

Location: Alberta, travel required, including overnight (about 20%)

Position type: Full-time, permanent

Reports to: Director of Sales, Ply Gem Canada

Position Summary: Responsible for daily operations and achieving goals within the branch budget. Must be knowledgeable of Ply Gem Canada procedures and sales processes, with extensive product knowledge and understanding of sales issues. Capable of working independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills. Active engagement with major accounts regarding sales, marketing, negotiations, and service. Assist sales in prospecting new accounts.

Business Development
  • Prospect new business alongside sales staff
  • Track prospects through CRM, including general contractors, builders, dealers
  • Know all products and their functions
  • Conduct sales/branch meetings as needed
  • Represent the organization at industry associations
  • Negotiate and close project pricing and customer pricing
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relationships
  • Understand competitors’ products and develop strategies to maintain competitive advantage
  • Monitor pricing and discounts to maximize opportunities
  • Collaborate with management on product and process development
  • Supervise, train, and advise sales staff
  • Handle hiring, discipline, and termination of sales personnel
  • Manage channel conflicts effectively
  • Report monthly on sales activities
  • Travel between locations in BC as required
  • Work with sales leadership to ensure pipeline growth
Authority
  • Negotiate pricing up to authorized levels
  • Approve employee expenses, invoices, credits, advertising, and low-discount orders
  • Hire and dismiss direct reports
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Management (asset but not required)
  • Minimum 7 years of related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • 2-5 years of management or supervisory experience, preferably in construction
  • Proven leadership skills
