POSITION OVERVIEW :

Startec Refrigeration Services is seeking a Sales Manager – Industrial Refrigeration for our Calgary, Alberta location (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The Sales Manager will oversee all sales activities, aiming to meet annual sales targets, build strategic business relationships, and develop sales strategies and execution plans.

This leadership role involves formulating innovative business development strategies aligned with company goals. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing sales staff to meet revenue objectives, as well as acquiring and maintaining client accounts.

The Sales Manager will collaborate with industry partners and sales channels to promote company offerings, initiate new business, increase market share, and achieve financial goals.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI) :
SALES EXECUTION & CLIENT EXPERIENCE (40%)
  • Develop and manage quarterly/annual sales plans and budgets.
  • Set and monitor sales goals, quotas, and forecasts; prepare status reports.
  • Review RFQs, qualify opportunities, and guide bid preparations.
  • Gather client feedback for service improvement.
  • Ensure exceptional customer experience and reinforce brand identity.
TEAM LEADERSHIP (40%)
  • Lead, coach, and evaluate the sales team, providing performance feedback.
  • Create talent development and succession plans.
  • Foster a culture aligned with company values both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with marketing on sales content and collateral.
STRATEGIC PLANNING (20%)
  • Work with the executive team on strategic and business plans.
  • Provide market insights for growth and competitive analysis.
  • Develop and implement strategies supporting sales and strategic plans.
  • Represent Startec at trade shows and industry events.
  • Monitor pricing strategies and approve RFQ pricing.
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant technical training/experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct sales and account management experience.
  • Experience in Ammonia Refrigeration/HVAC or Natural Gas Processing preferred.
  • Proven leadership in managing sales teams.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with corporate partners and stakeholders.
  • Experience in multi-product sales, budgeting, and business planning.
  • Understanding of financial reports and project expenditures.
