Job summary

HMSHost at Calgary Airport is seeking a Shift Supervisor to assist management in monitoring day-to-day activities, assign responsibilities, and ensure adequate shift coverage while driving sales and customer service performance. The role guides associates under management direction and enforces company standards and safety practices.

This non-exempt position typically reports to the Store Manager or General Manager, depending on local requirements, and involves cash handling and adhering to

Qualifications

• Requires a High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Minimum of 6 months supervisory/lead experience.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions and policy documents; converse comfortably with customers.
• Food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and oversees day-to-day activities of subordinates and coordinates breaks.
• Completes opening, daily and closing procedures according to policies.
• Coordinates on-the-job training for new associates.
• Operates cash register and maintains security of cash.
• Transfers supplies between storage and work areas.
• Participates in inventory counts and product rotation.
• Resolves customer complaints per company policy and aims for customer satisfaction.
• Maintains HACCP food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ensures safety guidelines are followed and reports concerns.
