Job summary

SSP Canada in Calgary International Airport is seeking a Cook to join our diverse kitchen team. You will follow recipes, manage portions, and ensure presentation of dishes as ordered while maintaining station setup and stock control.

We require at least one year in food service, a high school diploma (preferred), and strong verbal and written communication. Candidates should be able to stand for long periods and meet hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• One year minimum experience working in food service environment.
• High school diploma, preferred.
• Verbal and written communication is essential.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Food handlers permit, as required by law.
• Brand Certification, as required.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes, checks portioning and garnishes, presents dishes as ordered.
• Maintain correct setup at the station, manage orders and stock of goods.
• Handle, store and rotate stock properly.
• Set up, maintain, clean and ensure functioning of equipment.
• Supply stocks, cut and store perishable goods daily to ensure quality.
• Complete opening/closing control sheets as requested.
• Return utensils to proper places and keep work areas clean and organized.
• Perform hygiene-related cleaning with approved products to meet standards.
• Take instructions from the manager and verify order with them before leaving.
