Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Lead Airfield Electrical Engineer to lead complex electrical design tasks for airport projects. You will interface with clients and stakeholders, manage deliverables, and focus on quality and team collaboration across transportation and building sectors.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a PE license or eligibility, and 8–10+ years of experience. Office-based with possible field work, relocation to GTA/BC markets is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Licensed Professional Engineer eligible for registration.
10+ years of electrical engineering experience; airport projects preferred, broad sector experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

Performs complex engineering design tasks on assigned projects as Project Electrical Lead or SME; includes calculations, drawings, and reports.
Power distribution design and electrical infrastructure design for airfields and related facilities.
Design, construction, and commissioning of electrical systems, Field Electrical Centers, regulators, cabling, kiosks, transformers.
Design of airfield installations including pul pits, AGL, approach lighting, signage, lighting.
Field quality control and lighting measurements; participate in permits and client meetings as needed.
Review/seal projects or work of others; manage design and construction input for projects.
Support business development; assist with proposals and client planning; liaise with clients.
Mentor junior designers and EITs; communicate effectively with leadership and teams.
