Job summary

D.O.M. magazine is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to perform maintenance tasks under supervision, mentor apprentices, and conduct inspections per the customer work package. You will ensure compliance by auditing documentation, issue maintenance releases, and actively participate in the SMS by reporting hazards.

The role focuses on heavy and line maintenance with Dash 8/Q400 family experience and is based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance (line and heavy maintenance).
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow Aircraft Manuals and Publications.
  • Mechanical aptitude and mechanical experience.

Job description

You will conduct scheduled inspections according to the customer work package, ensure compliance by inspecting and auditing work documentation, and complete maintenance releases. You will actively participate in the companys Safety Management System and report any hazards or incidents, ensuring a clean work area by exercising FOD vigilance.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled inspections according to the customer work package.
  • Identify and document findings resulting from inspections.
  • Inspect work performed to ensure compliance.
  • Audit documentation of work performed to ensure compliance.
  • Complete maintenance releases for work performed.
  • Participate in company SMS and report all hazards or incidents.
  • Ensure a clean work area by exercising FOD vigilance.
  • 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance (line and heavy maintenance).
  • Repair, Aircraft maintenance, Line maintenance, Heavy maintenance, MRO.
  • Q400 experience (endorsement is a nice to have).
  • Inspection, Troubleshooting, ERJ experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Transport Canada AME License in the M1/M2 Category.
  • Experience on Dash-8 Q400, Classic Dash 8, or CRJ100/200/700/900 aircraft.
  • Preferred experience with Boeing 737 (all series) and Embraer E170/175 aircraft.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions in Aircraft Manuals and Publications.
  • Mechanical aptitude and mechanical experience.

Work Environment

Work on heavy maintenance lines involving Dash 8 Q400, Dash 8 100/300, CRJ100/200/700/900 aircraft, and newly approved Boeing 737 (all series) and Embraer E170/175 aircraft. The day shift runs from 7 am to 3:30 pm, and contractors can work as much overtime as desired. The facility closes for a Christmas break from December 20th to January 6th.

This is a Contract position based out of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
