Job summary

Voyageur Aviation Corp. seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Heavy Maintenance) for our North Bay, ON facility. You will perform inspections, troubleshoot defects, and rectify issues on CRJ 100/200/900 and Dash 8 series aircraft to the highest airworthiness standards.

The role requires 1+ year of AME experience, a TC-approved AME license (M1/M2), and a college diploma in Aircraft Maintenance. Teamwork, precision, and strong communication are essential for success here.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • Valid AME license (M1 and/or M2).
  • College diploma in Aircraft Maintenance from a TC-approved institution.
  • CRJ or DH8 experience considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Dismantle airframes, engines or systems for repair, cleaning, inspection and overhaul; reassemble components to airworthiness standards.
  • Ensure maintenance operations comply with applicable legislation and policies.
  • Troubleshoot structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems and repair per specs and manuals.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per manufacturer and Transport Canada regulations.
  • Collaborate in a team to maintain high production levels.
  • Learn aircraft systems across multiple types to prepare for advancement.
  • Maintain professional communication with cabin and flight crews.
  • Participate in Voyageur’s Safety Management System and report hazards.

Explore your next role:

We are looking for a qualified individual to join the team as an AME, Heavy Maintenance in our Heavy Maintenance department. As a key member of the Heavy Maintenance team, the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) will report to the Manager, Heavy Maintenance and will be responsible for performing aircraft inspections, troubleshoot defects and carry out rectifications in accordance with OEM manuals and publications to the highest standard of Airworthiness on CRJ 100 200 900, Dash 8 100 200 300 Q400 Aircraft. This is a full-time, permanent position located at our North Bay, ON facilities.

  • Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, clean, inspect and or overhaul, reassemble components or Airframes to the highest standard of Airworthiness.
  • Ensure that all maintenance operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation, company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot aircraft’s structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust/repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures.
  • Perform and document scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance as dictated by the manufacturer, per Voyageur’s policy and Transport Canada Regulations.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to maintain a high level of production.
  • Learn all Aircraft systems operations on multiple aircraft types to prepare for future advancement within Voyageur.
  • Maintain a professional standard while communicating with cabin and flight crew.
  • Actively participate in Voyageur’s Safety Management System including report hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations.

Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:

  • 1 or more years of experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.
  • Valid AME license (Category M1 and/or M2).
  • College diploma in Aircraft Maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational institution.
  • CRJ or DH8 Experience and/or endorsements considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify solutions.
  • Complete tasks accurately and efficiently with high attention to detail.
  • Capable of working under pressure with tight deadlines.
