Job description

GAL AeroStaff Ltd. is an aerospace staffing company specializing in temporary and permanent staffing for general and technical positions in the aviation and aerospace industry.

We are actively seeking talented candidates across Canada and offer relocation support for successful applicants outside Calgary, AB.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. The AME / Technician checks and maintains aircraft and engine conditions, performing repairs, replacements, and adjustments according to approved procedures.
  2. Responsible to the Production Manager for completing assigned work, ensuring compliance with local policies and Transport Canada regulations.
  3. Conduct verification inspections as trained, maintaining document integrity.
  4. Interpret blueprints, specifications, standards, and technical instructions, consulting the lead with questions.
  5. Maintain a clean and safe shop environment and tools.
  6. Collaborate with management and team members to achieve targets, communicating issues affecting progress.
  7. Disassemble, inspect, record discrepancies, and recommend repairs.
  8. Install, rig, and perform other mechanical functions and tests per manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduated from an accredited trade institution with a mechanics background.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in general aircraft assembly, fabrication, or installation.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical instructions.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with Twin Otter aircraft and systems is an asset.
  • Valid M1 or M2 license is an asset.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to obtain a Transport Canada Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
  • Flexibility to work different shifts.
