Job summary

CAE Inc is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) – Avionics to perform aircraft servicing and maintenance within the CAE Manufacturing team in Canada. You will inspect, repair, and test avionics systems, and support line maintenance activities to ensure mission-ready training equipment for defence programs.

Role requires Canadian AME certification, 4+ years of maintenance experience, and the ability to work shifts. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are provided by CAE.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and testing aircraft systems.
  • Removing and replacing line replaceable units and components.

  • Interpreting and applying technical publications and diagrams.
  • Ordering aircraft spare parts and materials.
  • Carrying out flight line servicing operations.
  • Debriefing the Team Lead when required.

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) – Avionics is responsible for performing aircraft servicing and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and testing aircraft systems
  • Removing and replacing line replaceable units (LRUs) and components
  • Performing specialty maintenance tasks in maintenance shops, as required
  • Interpreting and applying technical publications and diagrams
  • Maintaining tools and equipment required to perform assigned duties
  • Ordering aircraft spare parts and materials
  • Conducting flight line servicing operations
  • Debriefing the Team Lead, as required
  • Carrying out workplace inspections and clean‑up activities
  • Filling the position of Desk Controller, as required
Minimum Qualifications
  • Transport Canada–approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) Diploma or equivalent (including Canadian Forces Avionics Technician)
  • Possession of a valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) E License
  • Minimum 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 3 years in first‑line maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work shifts and travel occasionally as required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of aerospace design and maintenance practices
  • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Reliability security clearance
  • Eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit), or ability to obtain eligibility
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in life‑cycle support activities
  • Possession of M1 or M2 AME license (considered an asset)
  • Experience with military aviation or ex‑military avionics trade background
  • Minimum 3 years of second‑line maintenance experience
