Qualifications

• High school completion is required.

• Must be able to obtain Canadian passport and security clearances.
• Must successfully complete company screening.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and repair per specs and manuals.
• Repair and overhaul aircraft systems.
• Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems.
• Dismantle and reassemble airframes and engines for repair/overhaul/cleaning.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance under guidance of a Lead ACA/AME.
• Support safety initiatives and report hazards as part of SMS.
• Assist on the ramp as required.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Line Maintenance in Toronto YTZ, the AME Apprentice will work in support of Porter’s Q400 fleet in a line maintenance environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, manuals and established procedures
• Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems
• Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems
• Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble
• Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance under the guidance of a Lead ACA, ACA or AME
• Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
• Assist on the ramp as required

• Valid Ontario full “G” driver’s license (or out of province equivalent)
• Ability to obtain a Canadian Passport
• Ability to obtain necessary security clearances
• Successfully complete the company screening process
