Job summary

Porter Airlines seeks an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) to support the Halifax fleet in a line maintenance environment. Reporting to the Manager, Line Maintenance YHZ, you will troubleshoot and repair systems on Dash 8-400, Embraer RJ, and related airframe systems.

The role requires a Transport Canada AME license (M2 or E), at least 2 years of hands-on experience, and ability to obtain security clearances. You must be able to lift 50 pounds and work flexible shifts, including overtime.

Qualifications

• Transport Canada AME license (M2 or E rating) required.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience on relevant aircraft.
• Experience with DASH 8-400 and Embraer RJ systems preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and obtain security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems.
• Perform maintenance and overhaul tasks as directed by procedures.
• Install/modify engines and flight-critical systems as needed.
• Disassemble and reassemble airframes and components for service.
• Maintain inventory and assist on ramp operations as required.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Line Maintenance YHZ, the ACA YHZ will work in support of Porter’s fleet in a line maintenance environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems to identify problems and adjust and repair systems according to specifications, technical drawings, approved manuals and established procedures
• Repair and overhaul aircraft structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems
• Install or modify aircraft engines, mechanical, hydraulic, flight control, fuel and pneumatic systems
• Dismantle airframes, aircraft engines or other aircraft systems for repair, overhaul and cleaning, and reassemble
• Perform and document scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
• Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies
• Maintenance of GSE.
• Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy
• Ensure company offices and vehicles are kept organized and in working order.
• Carry out any task assigned by Maintenance Operations Control.
• Assist on the ramp as required

Qualifications

• Possession of a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (M2 or E rating) is required.
• Proven technical aptitude with at least 2 years’ experience and/or endorsed on DASH 8– 400 and/or Embraer Regional Jets and/or equivalent type of aircraft preferred.
• Experience working on a wide range of airframe systems such as electrical, navigation, flight controls and turbine engines.
• Ability to frequently climb, kneel and crawl into tight spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to obtain necessary Transport Canada security clearances and driver’s airside license within 6 months from date of hire.
• Full unrestricted driver’s license with a clean abstract required.
• Successfully complete the company background and pre-employment screening tests.
• Flexibility to work shifts and overtime.
