Job summary

Keewatin Air LP is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to ensure safety and reliability of operations. The role emphasizes meticulous maintenance, adherence to Transport Canada standards, and continuous improvement across aircraft systems.

Candidates must hold a TC AME license (M1 minimum, M2 preferred) and be able to obtain RAIC clearance. Shift work is on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off pattern in northern locations, with 12-hour days and evening shifts.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License M1 minimum with M2 preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Transport Canada security clearance (RAIC).
  • Valid Canadian Driver’s license with no restrictions and ability to obtain AVOP.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect aircraft systems including engines, landing gear, instruments, and electronics.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic issues to ensure performance and safety.
  • Perform routine preflight and postflight inspections to meet aviation standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repair, and inspection actions.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment to test structural soundness and systems.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure safe, efficient aircraft operations.
  • Maintain facilities and tools and assist with related tasks as needed.

Pay: Up to $60.00 per hour
Job Summary:

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of aircraft operations. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer will ensure reliability of aircraft through meticulous practices, adherence to regulations and continuous improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License M1 minimum M1/M2 preferred
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain Transport Canada security clearance (RAIC)
  • Valid Canadian Driver’s License with no restrictions
  • Able to acquire and maintain Airside Vehicle Operator Permit-AVOP
  • Experience on Beechcraft King Air B200, PC12 experience an asset
  • Citation 560 experience an asset. Training and Type Course Provided
  • PC24 experience an asset. Type Course Provided
  • Valid Canadian Passport required and able to travel unrestricted
  • Indigenous Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training considered an asset
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Inspecting and maintaining aircraft systems: This includes engines, landing gear, instruments, and electronic systems
  • Diagnosing and repairing issues: Mechanical and electronic problems are identified and fixed to ensure optimal performance
  • Performing routine inspections: Preflight and postflight checks are conducted to comply with aviation standards and safety regulations
  • Keeping detailed records: Maintenance, repair, and inspection activities are meticulously documented
  • Operating diagnostic equipment: Testing aircraft structural soundness and systems
  • Coordinating with team members: Ensuring efficient and safe aircraft operations through effective communication
  • Maintaining facilities and equipment: Keeping the work environment and tools in optimal condition
  • Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned by management
Working Conditions:
  • Shift Work: 2 weeks on and 2 Weeks off position in North locations. 12hrs shift days and evenings.
  • Work in Hangars and Repair Stations including Airport Ramp that may require working directly on the tarmac, which can be exposed to various weather conditions.
  • The work environment can be noisy due to aircraft engines and other machinery.
  • Physical activities including, but not limited to lifting, sitting, standing, climbing and must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Physical demands include exposure and handling of hazardous materials such as fuels, oils, and chemicals, necessitating proper safety gear and procedures
