Job summary

Porter Airlines Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Shop Technician to repair and maintain aircraft parts and components under the Shop Supervisor.

You will complete repair orders, ensure documentation accuracy, support on-the-job training, and participate in safety programs while ensuring repair quality and compliance. This role requires physical ability and adherence to Canadian aviation regulations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience is preferred.
• Must lift at least 23 kg (batteries, wheels, etc.).
• Completed approved training on applicable parts/components.
• Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations for duties.
• Ability to make decisions and meet deadlines under multiple tasks.
• Eligibility to work permanently in Canada.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Energetic, self-starting attitude.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and teamwork.
• Ability to obtain an unrestricted airport security pass.
• Valid full G Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repair and maintenance on aircraft parts and components.
• Perform maintenance under supervision to achieve Shop Certification Authority (SCA).
• Complete and certify repair orders.
• Ensure repair documentation is up-to-date with amendments.
• Maintain shop safety rules and keep the shop tidy.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
• Assist in on-the-job training for new employees.
• Stay current with technical information for the shop.
• Participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) and report hazards.
• Attend mandated training and assist in AOG line maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.
